How to Delete Multiple Text Messages on Android

If you want to delete multiple text messages at once on your Android phone, it’s not that hard. In this post I’m going to explain what you can do, how you can do it and the different options you have for deleting all those unwanted text messages.

Android makes deleting text messages easy, and there are multiple ways of doing it:

Delete a single message

Long-press on the message and when the menu pops up, tap the trash can icon to delete it.

Select multiple messages

Tap the three-dot icon at the top right and select “select all” to select every message in a conversation. Or you can hit edit, then individually select each message you want to delete. Once they’re all selected, tap the trash can icon at the top right to delete them.

Select an entire conversation

Long-press on any individual message in a conversation to access the menu, then tap “select all.” This will select every message from a particular sender, and again, you can tap the trash can icon at the top right to delete them.
