How to Check Data Usage on Android Phone

There are two ways to check your Android phone’s data usage, and one of them is a lot easier than the other. If you want to avoid running out of data before the end of the month or racking up astronomical overage fees, then keep track of how much data you’re using.

The easiest way to check your data usage on Android is to look at your phone’s built-in data usage tracker.

You can find this in your Settings app under Connections > Data Usage, and tap on an app below the usage graph to see more details. This will show you how much mobile data that app has used since you last set the counters to zero.

The problem with this method is that it only gives you a limited view into your past data usage. Depending on when you last reset the counters, you might not have a clear picture of how much mobile data you actually use in a typical month.

To get a bigger picture of your mobile data use, you need to login to your service account.

For example, you can also use these steps to check your usage on Verizon.

View data usage by line in the My Verizon app

If you have a Shared Data Plan, you can view your account’s data usage for all devices on the plan.

To view your data usage by line:

From the Menu , tap Devices.

Tap the device you want to view data usage for.

Tap Data and Usage at the bottom of the screen.

Tap View Usage Details under Data Usage.
